Do you ever wonder what people will say at your funeral? I know we do not like to think about it, but unless Jesus returns very soon, most of us here will experience death. When the funeral director calls on family and friends to write your obituary, will they have to struggle to find something good to say? Or will they gladly speak of your service to God and your world?

The parable highlights the importance of compassion and emphasizes that being a neighbor means extending help and kindness to anyone in need, regardless of their background or social status. It challenges us to break through stereotypes, prejudices, and social barriers to offer genuine care and support to those who require it.

Genesis is filled with such foreshadowing, and our aim in this exploration is to illuminate these shadows, to see Jesus in the patterns, the prophecies, and the personalities of Genesis. We will come to understand that the story of Jesus did not begin with His birth in Bethlehem but with the very dawn of creation itself. Christ is present in Genesis, not in physical form, but in the promise of redemption that is woven into the fabric of its narratives.

Do you ever feel like the world is shaking and crumbling around you? I do! It’s not a great feeling. God uses that emotional upheaval to stir our hearts and unstop our ears to His voice. When His voice becomes clear in our ears, He will reveal to us those eternal things that matter and help us let go of the temporal stuff of Earth.

Every day I listen to the Chapter A Day Audio Bible as part of my morning devotions. Currently, the host, Pastor John Stange, is reading through Psalms. As I listened, I realized there were several words that recurred throughout these songs and poems. So, I thought I would put together a Top 20 list of repeated words in Psalms and give you the definitions. As you read the Psalms, refer back to this blog and use it to enhance your study.

Three times the audience of Hebrews is told, “…you have come.” Israel could not come to Mt. Sinai even after days of consecration and abstinence. But this group of Hebrew Christians is set free to approach God in faith. To joyfully come into God’s presence with the angels, the church, and all believers. They are free because God has judged their sin through the mediation of the Son, making them righteous and perfect.
